As for my current pace its snail-like with 5/5 taking on the average around 42 secs. At that place, 8/8 would leave me with no rests, resulting in a density that I'm not ready for yet.

At this point I first want to try to increase my long set by another asc/des ladder rung (1,2,3,4,5,6,5,4,3,2,1). That will get me to 72 reps without putting the bell done. After accomplishing that, I then would like test your various ideas on improving density with less hand transfers.

@martin,

The last serious weight training was back in the summer of 1970 when using barbells, I put on 25lb of muscle between my soph and junior year in HS.

Probably my recent gains have more to with the well documented successes of RKC KB training methodology and secondly with the base of mental conditioning that HS and college wrestling gave me, e.g., learning how to perform while under extreme fatigue. (The latter is also responsible for the setbacks from over-training too!)

@mike,

Thanks for stopping by and for the kind words of encouragement! I can't say enough about how much Z has changed how I train. Its now a daily part of my life. (And I haven't used my foam roller in a month since reading your DieselCrew article .. great stuff!)

Also, congratulations on your latest TSC results .. VERY impressive sir!

@Howie,

Especially coming from the man who now regularly tosses that 24kg bell around like it was a rag, your words of praise are really appreciated!

And yes, I do use the hand turn to bring the bell down with less of an arc.Franklinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12125367865221040103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-807004449292874959.post-5070784476374739562008-04-22T08:39:00.000-07:002008-04-22T08:39:00.000-07:00Franklin, you are a work horse!! Are you using that method or hard-styling it right over the top?Howie Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10660165934860808313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-807004449292874959.post-12392973421787929572008-04-22T07:40:00.000-07:002008-04-22T07:40:00.000-07:00Nice work! I'd say you're already competitive in the snatch portion of the Master's TSC if you focus on it for a few weeks.

This is what the masters showed this year: 82, 70, 66, 57, and 52.

You did 50 after a whole lot of other shit, and then did more snatches after that. I think you could do 80 in 5 minutes as soon as you let your damned hands heal. That's 8/8 on the minute, and you should be fresh.Aaron Fridayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14919420483167662474noreply@blogger.com
